First of all, thank you for visiting my blog and taking the time to explore, it really means a lot!
Here’s a little bit about me and why Jennifer Makes was created…
I’ve always loved food (the eating part was my favourite!) and making dishes from scratch, there’s something rewarding about sitting around the table and taking the time to enjoy what you’ve just created. Growing up as a little girl I can remember being in the kitchen with my mum while she taught me how to make all the family favourites… from a savoury cottage pie through to an award-winning Malt Loaf (I say ‘award-winning’ rather lightly, it won the local bakery competition once upon a time and the recipe has been kept in the family ever since…)
During the day, I run my own design company which I absolutely love (it keeps me on my toes!) and it enables me to be creative pretty much all of the time, something I’ve enjoyed doing since I was in School. I was always the ‘arty’ one growing up, you’d find me with a pencil in one hand and a scrap bit of paper in the other, doodling whatever came into my mind. You’d also find me at the library at the weekend, with my head firmly buried in 5 to 6 books at once, I became absorbed in so many different worlds… it was awesome!
At the end of 2017 I began living a vegetarian lifestyle (I’m in the middle of writing a blog post about why I decided to become vegetarian which I’ll share with you soon) and this sparked an even bigger interest in developing new recipes and creating meat-free dishes that are still packed full of flavour and also super easy to make.
